Can you imagine being lucky enough to have not one, but two authors, visit your school? Well, that was Stage 3 this term. We were truly blessed by the literary gods.
First, the infamous Morris Gleitzman graced us with his presence. After 6D had finished reading his novel, Misery Guts, at the beginning of the term, we were keen to hear him talk about how he constructs his stories and learn what inspires him. He was only too happy to share his valuable experience with his audience.
Just a week later, the hilarious Tim Harris visited our school and shared his life stories with everyone. This man had us in stitches. He even had some students and Mrs Dowling acting out different scenes to demonstrate how to apply various styles of writing. Tim Harris inspired us to be good writers using humour.
6D are eager to try out their new ideas after spending time among these inspiring authors. Who knows? We may have the next famous children’s author among us and we don’t even know it yet.
