Number Talks
The students in 6R engage in Number talks for 5-10 minutes before the maths lesson. It helps them build number sense, mental math, and flexibility with numbers. They are generally focused on one problem or series of related problems that they complete individually and then discuss as a class.
Multicultural Perspective Speeches
All the students in 6R participated in Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking. This encourages the students to explore ideas of multiculturalism in Australia, as well as giving them a place to practice their public speaking skills and improve their confidence.
Reading Groups
The students in 6R are supported in a small group to read a text independently. The students are challenged and extended according to their ability group.
Operation Art
This Term students participated in Operation Art. Students created perspective visual art.
